VITAMIN B2

DESCRIPTION:

Vitamin B2, or riboflavin, is a water-soluble vitamin and one of the rare vitamins that can be made inside our bodies by intestinal flora! Unfortunately, our bodies don’t store it and don’t produce enough to meet our needs, so we also have to get this vitamin through daily nutrition.

ROLE:

Vitamin B2 assists in energy production by helping us metabolise proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. It’s also involved in protecting the body against imbalances of free radicals and antioxidants.

SOURCES:

There’s a wide range of food sources of vitamin B2, but the largest quantities are found in offal, dairy, salmon, brewer’s yeast, hazelnuts, seaweed, etc.
